I first started basketry in 1997 learning the basic principles from my grandfather. The next year I had two rows of Golden willow growing in our garden. The following year another 17 rows of Belgium Red where added (see:osier) |

In January/February 2002 I went on a course in
Eynderhoof, Nederweert, Holland. Because this course is two times a year I went
again in November/December. In March 2003 I went again. But there was no course. From 9-15-2002 I am a member of the basketmaking group of yahoo!(with this English site!) and went abroad with my baskets. What started as a hobby is now getting out of hand.

| In 1998 I became a member of a Dutch Foundation called 'Wilg en Mand' to get some knowledge of weaving techniques and willow growing. But this foundation was in 2002 more dead then alive. The last issue of ‘weaving’ (a book about weaving techniques, courses etc.) was of 2001. |

In August 2003 some members and ex-members of
‘Wilg en Mand’ tried again with an International Basketryday in
Noordwolde, Holland.
