What to do when it starts to freeze?? |

Here in Holland you normally don’t know when it
starts to freeze. You never know exactly. For example the skating marathon
in Friesland. Sometimes it is held 2
years in a row, then 15 years pass before it can be held again. I took precautions and put a heating system
in the water. A piece of about 40cm is defrosted, but not the whole tank.
Putting the tank inside isn’t an option
either, because there isn’t a room where the temperature is above zero. Now I have an ‘aeration pump for dry
installation’ because we’ve also got a pond. This only works when it doesn't freeze hard.(about 2 degrees under zero) Because the water is in movement all the time, because of the air, it doesn't frost up. |
