I was just at a course where I learned how to do Franch and Dutch randing and how to make handles(02-17-2002)
  There is a lot of organic manure around the one year rods(2-14 to 2-18-2002), enough for a couple of years. It has been 3 years since it was last fertilised(1999)
The one year old rods are cut with a bill hook, they will probably produce 3 or 5 times as many shoots next year. My test rows are taken off with a rotating saw.(05-12 to 05-17-2002)
The one year old rods are sprayed to prevent willow beetle (see: links) although I have not seen any pests so far (6-29-2002)

No willow beetles but where there are new leaves there is a threat so I think I will have to spray again. (21-7-2002)
I just went to Dilsen-Stokkem, to the Belgium weaving museum. Unfortunately I was 1 day early, however I saw a lot and have many ideas to try. (8-14-2002)

After the summer I begin the weave again. I have soaked the rods in water for 3 weeks. (See: weaving) I started with the usual basket and will continue until April 2003 (09-16-2002)
I almost forgot, I became a member of the Yahoo Internet group, Basketmaking (as from 09-15-2002) so I am now a member of the international basketmaking community. I did this at the suggestion of Marianne van Beelen. (www.marianneb.com)
 
I am going on a course again in Nederweert, Holland to learn how to make oval baskets. On 2 and 23 November and 14 December. (10-16-2002)
 
I have made a version without the pull-down menus. This is for users of IE 4.x. Only 12% of my viewers is IE 4.x, but those people have a right of my page as well. Go to home and you'll see where to click.(11-11-2002)
 
  The different browsers are making me crazy. Now it's IE 5.5 that doesn't show the whole menu. I removed the line in the product menu and hope that's enough. (11-14-2002)

It is starting to freeze, last Sunday I saw the first(little piece of) ice in my tank in which I have my one year rods. It is the first time that there has been so much ice. Since I’ve got the tank it hasn’t (as far as I know) been that cold. The one year rods should be in the water until Sunday (when I go on my course) and then I usually begin to weave. Now I’ll have to wait until the thaw sets in. (12-10-2002)
