Air in my tank sort my willows on length My test-rows on Dec, 5 2002
I try to keep the tank free of ice with air. see :News '02 (12-10-'02) Sort my willows by length (and thickness). My test rows which are cut with a rotating saw. See : growing

It now is freezing here, although it didn't stop raining for the past 3 weeks. The water in the Maas didn't get as high as 1993 and 1995, but it came close. That is why my willow beds aren't cut yet.(1-5-2003)

My test rows are cut, so that's all for this year. (1-17-2003)

It is freezing again, but not hard, so I put the air in my tank again. See the picture above (1-30-2003)

One row is stil standing The storage of my rods this year Cutting my willow
On the foreground my row which I need for my project. see :Living willow sculpture The storing of my rods, with behind te pallet alle that's left for this year The cutting of my Golden willow.

Yesterday I saw my page with IE4.x, and it isn't so bad afterall. When a menu is opened, it stays open. But when you click on home again, everything is ok. (2-6-2003)

Last night it was freezing here about 7 degrees. But my willows should be out of my tank. Willow out of my tank during frost. (2-15-2003)   Frost in my tank

It is still freezing, so my willows are dryfrozen. Next year I have smaller bunches, but this isn't worth anything. Already in 4 days (since Friday) my willows are too dry! (02-17-2003) Ice So what do I do when it's freezing??
I do not weave.
This was there Monday
You'll never know here in Holland because it hasn't been freezing for a couple of years.

I am going to weave again in Eynderhoof, Nederweert, Holland. 8 and 29 March. Just... for nothing (02-17-2003)

27 February I have my willow in the water again, because it has been freezing 27 February (See: living willow sculpture) and I want my willows ready when I am going to Eynderhoof... Now I have my willow ready when I will go to Eynderhoof on 29 March. To bring in actual practise what I learnt. It is going to freeaze on the night's at the end of the week, but what is wisdom?? (03-10-2003)

This is all I have left...
This is all I have left, after 10 March(see above), what has a label is of 1998, which means the Golden willow. Photographed from the other side. (The other picture)

Now I have an animation on my homepage of me weaving an oval basket. The thumbnails are still of the round basket. I'll try to make that every day an other animation is shown. See for this the wallhangers. Those of April, the 1st.
And I put my last Belgium (Flanders) Red in the water. It goes 24 April out of the water, and then I only have 3 (small) bunches of the Golden Willow. (04-05-'03)

I started a new correspondence course: CADdy++ Electrical
(04-10-2003)

Tonight I sprayed my rods for the first time in 2 years. The picture, which is seen in the material-tour (4 - growing) is of 2001, because I was alreasy busy with my webpage in 2001.
(04-14-2003)
The spraying in 2003...

Yesterday I weaved for the last time before the summer. I can't combine it with my course anymore. Thursday 24 April some maintenance and restoration, yesterday a nest box. And then it was ....finished (4-27-2003)

All my rods are cut, it took me a day longer then last year, because this year I had to do everything on my own. (05-12 to 05-17-2003)

Today I tried to peel my willow, for my project next year, or maybe a year later. I pull the rods through the V shape formed by nails to loosen the bark. It where rods, which where cut 05-17-2003 (see above), so they should peel easier. (see the picture about raining this year, a few rods are still standing.)
(05-21-2003)

My correspondence course is finished, and I am starting a new one.(06-12-'03)

I finished my correspondence course and it took me a month. Usually these courses wil take me half a year. (07-14-2003)

Today I went to the willow-day in Dilsen-Stokkum(Belgium). Marlijn (of my course in Eynderhoof) was there, too. At the fair. I is a day for a basketweaver, but in the museum it really is the same. Last year I was a day early.

  Eureka!
Wel, allmost eureka. I've got two animations (of the round and the oval basket) on my homepage. Move your mouse over the animation to see the effect! (8-20-2003)

Yesteray I went to an International Basketryday in Noordwolde, Friesland, Holland. There where a lot of weavers from Europe and this country. Including Arie D. van 't Hoog (writer of some basketrybooks), Piet Hein Spieringhs ( http://www.devlechterij.nl), Heinz Helmer (Germany), Anna Maria Vaaitainen (Finland) and De Vos (De Vos Salix, from Belgium). Including. (08-31-'03)

The summer is over, so I began with my baskets again. First making new handles on baskets where I wasn't satisfied with. (see: Round baskets, page 2.) Because the only way to become a good basketmaker is to practise. (09-03-2003) Practise, practise, practise
And after that??
Practise again

Lots of bases There are a lot of oval bases made. Made of the Golden Willow I have left.

On October, 24 a little snow fell. My tanks arriving.
On october, 24 there is falling (a little bit)snow. On 24 October my new tanks are coming The water is drained off with a cock.

I'm going on a workshop in Noordwolde, Holland. The workshop is given by Esmé Hofman.
...And the water where my rods are in has been frozen. It has been freezing up to 7 degrees at nights. (12-09-2003)

Jac. Sleutels has taken a look on my page. He says that my willow beetles are not willow beetles, but this are willow galls and what I see when I open the leave isn't the larva of the willow beetle but little wasps. To spray against this is totally unnecessary. Now my story of willow beetles can be thrown away in the dump. (12-20-2003)
